Men in Egypt Would Fight a Religious War to Keep Women at Home

A friend shared in class today her story of this survey, the World Value Survey, which is a survey that takes socio-cultural beliefs, attitudes, and mores and attempts to make statistics out of them based on very elaborate questionnaires.

Egypt scores, in the World Value Survey, highly on: religion on top (97%), idea of women staying at home because housework is gratifying more than paid work (97%), and the 70% of the youth said they would fight for their country.

Bottom Line According to My Friend: Men in Egypt would fight a religious war to keep women at home.

Just in case you want to check out this survey: http://www.worldvaluessurvey.org/ although I don't know why people are so intent on creating numbers (think how much numbers over-simplify things like religious beliefs) out of non-tangible things but when social scientists come to analyze numbers/economics/business by putting them in cultural frameworks and connecting them to social life, some people just don't get it.
